Bread In Common

I had the pleasure of meeting up with one of my 20 year long friends for lunch yesterday.

Donna

Donna was the first person we met upon arriving in Perth WA all those years ago.  Having trekked East to West across the Nullarbor from Portland, Victoria, to relocate to the sunnier climes of WA, with 4 very young children, a trailer in tow and no place to live, we were on a mission to find a house that day.

Donna was working at the real estate agents we turned up at that Saturday afternoon:

We said "hi we need a house to rent."

She said "hi, come back on Monday, we can't do anything until then."

We said "You don't understand we have just driven the Nullarbor for the past 6 days in a people mover and have 4 young kids with no place to stay."

Promptly taking pity on us Donna drove around on a Saturday afternoon looking for a place we could move into and found us the most perfect first rental we could have asked for.

Not only did she find us a home, but turned up later on that Saturday in her own time with a small TV that we could use for the kids to watch and some camp beds / mattresses for us to sleep on - our trailer of household goods was not due to arrive in WA for a couple of weeks, so we were literally camping in the rental.

Now with that bit of background out of the way, you will understand why we have been friends for many years.. a beautiful lady with a heart of gold who is a lot of fun to hang out with!

Posing Pals

We went to Bread in Common in Fremantle.  A fantastic place with delicious food, an extensive wine list, friendly staff and funky ambience.

It really is a place you must visit.

Tucked away in Pakenham Street in Fremantle you might just miss this gastronomic gem, so it is my pleasure to share with you a few photos of yesterday, a link to an excellent review of this fabulous converted warehouse, as well as Bread in Common's website link:

I have no photos of our food because we were too busy enjoying our scrumptious meal!

Tempted??  Do yourself a favour: make a date to break bread with a few friends, enjoy share plates of excellent food with a glass of wine from their extensive wine list or a fresh juice made to order, completing the delicious Bread in Common experience with a little Latte and one of their phenomenal desserts.   You won't be disappointed!
